RE: Muslim Protest
There are a lot of Mormons in the CIA (they go on a mission at a young age for a couple of years, learn another culture/language, and probably are the second most clean living people only to Seventh Day Adventists in the USA), I wouldn't rule out October Surprise (early) on this one. This character is reminding me of Mansour Arbabsiar.

p.s. The safe house where the killings took place was known by the killers.

RE: Muslim Protest
Montag, thank you for posting the video so I didn't have to go looking for it. It is really terrible. It looks like it was made by amateurs, who maybe had a film class in high school. If I had made such a terrible film, I would not have released it. Aside from the terrible quality of the film, it isn't really as bad as I expected it to be. I just can't understand people who get violent over such stupidity. But then, I don't believe in organized religion.

That's an interesting observation you made about Mormons in the CIA. I did not know that. After reading the Wikipedia article you linked to, I can see why this guy reminds you of Mansour Arbabsiar. Both are kind of shady lowlifes who suddenly got swept up in a huge international dispute.

RE: Muslim Protest
This illustrates how easy it would be for the Powers That Be to inflame an "authentic" false flag event.

I think the Middle East/North African Muslim community should reflect on how they were so easily used. Even if the players were al-Qaida zealots their response was not in their best interests.

The fact they knew about the safe house screams inside job.

Yes, not the type of people you'd think would be competent enough to achieve what they are said to have done.

Bacile's movie should have gone into the dustbin of history, I think, without inflaming an entire region.

RE: Muslim Protest
Enthusiast, ConEv, Montag, I agree with all of you that this smacks of manipulation. I fear that this may yet develop into a serious false flag situation. Just what the Obama campaign needs. It is the tendency of the voters to stick with whomever is in office during a war. Of course, we've been at war for the last 11 years, but this would be a new war, and more likely to stir up those feelings of insecurity driving people to stick with the devil they know.

One thing I wanted to mention regarding the safe house. It may have been an inside job, but I saw a report on Brian Williams prime time show. The reporter was in Benghazi and he is from there. He said that when the people from the embassy took off in a high speed motorcade to the safe house, there is no way that would have gone unnoticed at that time of night. He felt that it could have been an inside job, but could very well have just been the rioters seeing them go. I don't understand why they would have established a safe house a mile and a half away from the embassy. Why wouldn't they have made it much closer, with tunnel access perhaps? Either that, or at least devised a less prominent way to get there.

RE: Muslim Protest
Interesting John Bolton quote from a Politico article:

Quote:“I’ve said for three-and-a-half years the president doesn’t care about national security. He doesn’t think the world is terribly threatening,” former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, a Romney adviser, said Wednesday during an appearance on WMAL, a Washington D.C. conservative talk radio station.

“I think a weak reaction, a failure to demonstrate American power and resolve, will help see this stretch throughout the region… I come back to Tehran in 1979, that if we’re not careful here, we’re going to see a repetition of that crisis which of course was a major factor contributing to the destruction of the Jimmy Carter administration,” Bolton added.

RE: Muslim Protest
Additional thoughts..
Obama has expanded the war in Afganistan, to no end, murdered suspects and innocents all over the world, including US citizens (I say "including US citizens" only because of The Constitution, not because of morality), how much more war mongering and hubris is required?.............Pity the innocents, they are the first to pay.
