CPD Dishonors Veterans on the Eve of Memorial Day

This past weekend in Chicago, was an ironic preface to the May-Day holiday traditionally designated to honor veterans. Before the Chicago march, Tom Morello and Rise Against’s Tim McGrath performed. Then protestors marched solemnly to a rudimentary stage to frame presentations by around 40 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who returned their medals. After the testimonials, there was a pregnant pause and protestors milled around waiting for their next move. That’s when the CPD moved in with their billy clubs. At least two protesters were badly injured.
