This touches my heart. I hope Treyvon Martin gets justice.

This incident and the ugliness it's exposed in much of America- but particularly in Florida has gone worldwide.

A couple of interesting things to note:

Sanford ran Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson and his minor league team out of town:

And young people- with their social networks have about had enough:

Quote:I came home late from Thursday night's protest dispirited and ready to unload on my college student daughter about Trayvon's death and racial injustice and all that is not being done.

It turned out she had been online for hours, tracking Facebook posts and news accounts. She's never been the protesting type, but she was making plans to march this time. She showed me pictures of white kids taking to the streets in New York in hoodies, hoisting bags of Skittles.

"It's not about race anymore," she told me when I asked why so many people seem to have made Trayvon a martyr.

"This is about justice. A crazy man who shot a kid who wasn't bothering anyone."

No one should lose a child because they walk home from the store in the dark wearing a hoodie. I don't know whether he's an overeager wanna be law enforcement or whether he's racist but in the court of law I doubt it will matter. The fact is that he followed and (I think) deliberately attacked the kid, and killed him. The kid's screams were awful. The gunshot and silence was ever worse.
